Home away from home

From the moment you walk through the glass door of the entrance you are welcomed and looked after as one who is a regular visitor. It was my first visit to Hanoi and i was travelling with my wife. At first the approach to the hotel is a bit daunting as the car cuts through the narrow streets of the old quarter. By the time you check in this feeling has vanished. From being welcomed with a drink and a map of Hanoi to all necessary instructions needed to familiarize oneself with a new place are patiently explained by the very helpful staff.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Lake of the Returned sword and the water puppet theatre. The Old Quarter has a charm of its own very similar to The Ramblas in Barcelona or the West End in London. Plenty around the hotel to walk and soak in. So the location is just right.
Be warned that the last order in the dining room is 9pm. Most of the restaurants close by 10PM. so eat dinner early. By the way the food in the dining area is not to be missed. Beautifully presented and equally tasty. Breakfast is more than adequate and is served till past 10.30.am
It seems the staff has been trained to never say no to the guest for anything. Though all the staff were extremely polite I must mention Janine, Liam and Long at the front desk as outstanding. Mr. Dung at the travel desk is more than helpful for any requirements regarding tours and car hire.
